Red Wing Iron Ranger Review
The Mesabi Iron Range is located in northern Minnesota and is populated with iron ore miners. The Range, as it is called, is filled with working folk called Iron Rangers. The Red Wing Iron Ranger boot is inspired by them; tough, streamlined, unfussy. RedWing Iron Ranger has a double layer of leather over the toe so that they can hold up to a serious workday while protecting the wearer. These boots are built to last.
Also referred to as style no. 8111 OR 8113, this lace up boot is made with Goodyear welt construction and triple stitching. The leather that Iron Ranger boots are made from has the old style quality and is tanned by S.B. Foot Tanning company using oil tanning technique. The resulting product is not only handsome but is also water and stain resistant. Red Wing boots have been around and made in MN for over 100 years, and this classic technique produces some of the best and most natural leather available.
Iron Ranger also features nickel chrome hardware, speed hooks for convenience, and a cork midsole. Cork is another natural material that is proven in footwear. It provides shock absorption and cushion, forms to the wearer's foot over time, and is light and made to last. Red Wing Iron Ranger's cork sole grips really well, even on ice, but snow and/or mud can be an issue for this type of workboot.
With a classic style that harkens back to the 50s, this boot delivers proven American goodness with no frippery or fancy bells and whistles you don't need. Whether your needs are casual or you are buying a work boot, there is nothing bad to say about the superlative Red Wing Iron Ranger boot.
